“You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn’t find one of ‘em, not one stinkin’ dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like . . . victory. Someday this war’s gonna end.”

Oops. Not that they’ve SEEN the monster, and been in physical CONTACT with it…Remember how ruthless Apex is?This couple of witnesses will be followed up, and I don’t give much for their chances.
Now enter the Apex black helicopter conspiracy theory. I don’t think of this as a prequel as much as maybe Holly is reflecting back into her human past
Not a bomb. Critical energy from the three beams from the helicopters crossing. Total protonic reversal. Someone saw something strange in the neighborhood.
I’m guessing that Holly and Lyn both go to bed and wake up as anthros. The curious thing is that we can’t be certain if it’s Holly because Lyn has not called out her name yet.
There’s been no proof that the mutagen started out as airborne. All we really know about it is what we’ve seen when people are exposed post-The End. Given all the weapons going off at one time, the mutagen that we’re familiar with may have also mutated from it’s original form and transport mechanism. For all we know, the cop was an unwitting test subject injected with an Apex “vaccine”, and the bomb right now did actually contain the mutagen for the moment. The real questions are: How did the authorities know to look for this mutation in this location? And, how did they mobilize, and authorize the use of, a bomb this quickly?
I’m convinced that this is Holly’s story. Most all suggested scenerios seem possible.Excuse my spelling I have been thru a very difficult week and it isn’t really over yet. I still have a bit of trouble spelling.

Looks like those responsible think that they’ve contained the infection by blasting it, not knowing that two carriers have just escaped.

A bomb. Wonder how long it took for the authorities to think of that?

I think this series of the strip should be called “In The Beginning.”

Actually, it reminded me of the punchline of “Return of the Living Dead.”

Well, it’s not a comic without an EXPLOSION in it.

So, Holly (?) and Lynn are Patient Zeros as it were? By running away they were the ones who accelerated the spread? Or was it already airborne?
