See? It’s not set up like a hearse at all. He says it looks like a “splendid coach.” Well, I guess they’re being drugged by the gas, so that should make them easy to tie up. Ray seems quite easy-going even with poorly disguised coach drivers. I notice the air is quite cold (you can see their breath), but that seems fitting for a death coach.
This sort of thing was done in the old TV series “The Wild, Wild West”. Makes me wonder if this could be Mike Curtis and Joe Staton’s way of saluting that classic show.
Okay, the Coiste BoDhar is not a hearse; but it did/does look like one. Too bad its well-appointed interior is an airtight trap for Uncle Ray and Bonnie. I imagine that they will wake up trussed up, maybe in front of a TV camera, to be used as hostages to bait Tracy into a trap….
This is pretty chilling. If Abner wants to try to control Detective Tracy he now has two hostages. If he wants to destroy the Detective then he now has two corpses.
When you come right down to it, though, why on earth would a paid killer make his identity known so he could guarantee being hunted down soon afterwards? Obviously if Abner did succeed, the method used would make it pretty clear he was the one who killed Tracy. (they’d figure out Kadaver hadn’t really died pretty quickly, I’m sure…..heck, Pouch would know for starters)
Come to think of it, JPW, stilldamatt surely knows a bunch of weird people from his childhood. Do you suppose they influenced the young lad somewhat for his journey into adulthood? Methinks so. I bet the columns under that bridge and the bridge abutment are covered with pictures of weirdos.
Good thing I read the “gas” button comment….I read this on my cell phone and I didn’t notice it at first either due to the smaller picture. Guess it’s time to play “let’s make a deal” now.
It’s very important that they do all this elaborate stuff so Dick has his usual multitude chances to escape. Can’t just take him out with a bullet like they would in real life, right?
In Chicago we have many coaches and drivers. The drivers, both men and women, dress as traditional coachmen with high hats, etc. It is not unusual here to see female coachmen dressed in the traditional style like a man. I’m not sure if any of the women wear mustaches but it would not surprise me. Nothing has happened yet that would make either Uncle Ray or Bonnie suspicious. From their point of view Uncle Ray won a meal and a coach ride so everything is going as they think it should.
Can’t both happen and not happen, ha ha (jk) But I’m sure they are going to be kept alive and used as “tracybait”. It would definitely add to the drama if he killed them, and since they’re ficticious characters, I don’t know why there’d be such a problem, though. Heck, they could kill Dick tracebot off too….it’s not like any of this is real…Sam has much more personality as does Junior and most everyone else.

Knock out gas in an airtight coach. And Ray is the relaxed kind of preacher who doesn’t freak out at a moustached man wearing makeup.

Gasp! She’s going to gas them! Maybe only to make them sleep-we hope. How chilling!BTW, good morning DT fans!

Rikki’ s man disguise won’t fool anyone. Uncle Ray maybe it’s myopic…

By the way, Bonnie’s being kidnapped again, this time as a young adult! Bet she doesn’t remember the Crewy Lou predicament…

If that tv camera idea holds up, I wonder if footage will be used to break in during the special piece being aired that DT just interviewed for?

…..guess I’m a dummy…..thought she might be phoning Abner with that thing with the musical note coming from it, not gassing them.

I wonder who fed the horses while Kadaver was in the slammer? And, if you say Rikki did, who paid her? She had plenty of time to polish the coach.

Yes.

Bingo! You solved the Riddle-of-the-Day, JP! Tomorrow’s question is which bridge does Olaf call home?

Looks like Rikki likes to whistle while she works. From the looks of it, she’s whistling “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” Fitting.
