When the dog is whining so loud under the dining room table that no one can talk it becomes a detriment to survival.

Actually, the li’l guy will get adopted. Pit Bulls like Will go to shelters to die. The little cute ones are much more likely to be snapped up by adopters. We prove this at our adoption events every Saturday.

THINK ABOUT THIS, PEOPLE, WHEN YOU DUMP YOUR DOG AT A SHELTER BECAUSE “THE KIDS ARE TOO BUSY FOR HIM”. AND PLEASE. NO XMAS PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work with both Rottweiler and Pit Bull rescues. I’d take Will ANY day over a little, foo-foo dog.

Chihuahuas were the purse dog of the late 90s, they were bred to sell. Pretty soon there was an overabundance of the little darlings. I remember that they almost never ended up for adoption, now they are second only to pit bull mixes, although the shelters call them something else, because they are supposed to adopt them out.(Pit Bulls are great pets).

This is amazing, because large breeds have many pups, while Chihuahuas have 1-3. The breeding was very widespread, they cost well over $500 in the 90s with very few mixes. The breeding was intentional, for the money.

I tease my hubby about getting a Chihuahua after our husky passes, but he calls them rat-dogs because of their size.

Ugly Mutt Contests prove some people like their dogs “cute-challenged”!

Will, polish your toenails and stand as tall as you possibly can, and volunteer to be the guy who helps little old ladies with bad balance off the floor. Painter’s stilts might be a useful resource …

I’d be afraid to take on little dogs below knee height these days – but our big boy has kept me on my feet more than once, bless him. He’s nearly thirty inches at the shoulder and strong as a small locomotive, and he thinks he owns me. Fortunately, he cares for his possessions :-)

The cats have survived because their efforts to teach us to levitate have resulted in superior reflexes on our part, but sometimes it’s touch and go on that score!

We have an 80 lb pit-lab who is mercilessly abused by the 5 lb cat, the 8 lb poodle and the 12 lb min-pin. He is our second pit-lab, and we find that is the perfect blend for a gentle personality
