Dangerously smart Dittos. The one thing that might shake Holly out of it is realizing she can get Wally hurt.

The dittos are smarter than we realize – they’re just limited in how they can communicate.

The Dittos projected the one thing that would make Holly stop running from the subconscious fears they both have.

Pwfffft ! This twist wasn’t even on my top hundred possibilities. However, the twist must now be “made plausible.” If this was an undirected Ditto solution to a ‘Holly episode’ then this really opens up a theatre of plot possibilities and even new characters("See that Ditto over there, the one with the tiny eyelashes? That’s Bernice, the brains of the outfit. When she was just a little Ditto….).

Horsing others around with illusions sounds a lot more like a Marx move.

Perhaps the Dittos are more aware of what’s going through Holly’s mind, and this is their way of getting her to open up; like they did with Wally once before.…Something’s telling me those Dittos would make great therapists.

Love Wally’s “angry” tail. I think the ditto’s also would be capable of making you insane!

Perhaps the dittos have always had this much intelligence. As Prof Mallard in the two strips below (Sept 9 & 10) suggests, ditto invisibility is much trickier than one might imagine. Add to that the dittos ability to pull elements from human memory (see Sparkplug’s backstory and Wally’s time in Bordavia) and its hard to ignore the probability that dittos are fairly intelligent. It is entirely possible that they could read the situation, decide that Holly needed to be stopped and construct an airscout (with details pulled from the couple’s memories) to distract Holly from her race.http://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2013/09/10#.UrClOvRDs_Yhttp://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2013/09/11#.UrClZPRDs_Y

@bscruffy: Exactly! We saw how he intervened in Blackie’s life. His machinations didn’t end with the granting of the Rabbit’s desires. He’ll be back in the picture quite soon, even if (in my opinion) the dittoes are currently acting of their own free will. Love how Wally’s catness has become more apparent than ever. At times my own cat has looked exactly like that.

I wondered is the dittos would disappear the thing. It seems for the good. The dittos wanted to get the two together so they can be better protected., Sneaking, and scary but very good planning on this. Blessed Be

Even though as someone said about Holly “she’s a woman in a mouse suit” They still do have the new instinctual behavior of the type being they are clothed with. Gustine had a limited range of clothes, and the quick to anger rhino parts.Holly did seem to snap back into the present reality, realizing that Wally just did a belly-flop that had to have taken his breath for a moment.
