Even though we had a fully fenced backyard, I built the kids a sturdy playhouse (with power) that had a secure dead-bolted door, for sleepovers. They loved it, and weren’t the least bit nervous about sleeping in it. :) It made my eldest very proud that his MOM could build stuff. He only told me recently that this was pivotal in his attitude about females. Before that, he thought girls were useless creatures.
