I had a neighbor who had their light on ready for Trick or Treaters. When you got to the door, there was a sign with some post it notes, that said “We don’t give out candy, but you’re welcome to one of these verses”. If you don’t want to give out candy on Halloween, turn your light off!
We gave out toothbrushes last year and the year before. It was surprising how many kids seemed happy to get a new toothbrush. Sometimes I wonder what their homelife must be like.

One year, my parents handed out candy AND toothbrushes, to use afterwards!

Every year I hand out candy canes and hope it instills the Christmas Chaos early in the parents. :D
