If they were really wise accountants, they wouldn’t give this advice as having the baby as late in the year as possible is best because you can take the deduction for the entire year (1 BC), and then again in the entire year of 1 AD.
Based on some Biblical references, some scholars put Jesus’ likely birth date near the end of September. And December 25th may have been selected as the official data to coincide with a pagan festival – the Winter Solstice.
Maybe they should have tried to find the “Three Wise Guys” – “That innkeeper made you sleep in the stable? For a small consideration, we can make sure he sleeps with the loaves and fishes.”

You can deduct the stable rental, but any “gifts” will be counted as income.

Since Im Eastern Orthodox, can I follow the Julian calender instead so that December 25th on the Julian falls on Jan 6th in the Gregorian?

Too bad that it’s NOT funny, cause I laughed…now what do I do?

What’s not funny is that you just failed Christianity 101. The record (Bible) clearly states that Jesus is the Son of God.

Actually it is better to have the baby on the last day of the old year because you get the deduction for the full year.

To Hollie: It’s a CARTOON !!! The joke is in the title, (the accountants),,not in the religious connotations. Lighten up, girl.
