Now, now, folks…just calm down. If the Patterson’s had done everything exactly right, just where would be the adventure in this story? So, just lean back and enjoy the story and hopefully you won’t have to order another bottle of blood pressure medicine right away.
Here’s a good advertisement for an implanted ID microchip. Each of my dogs has had one (in addition to collar, name tag, registration). But sometimes collars come off.
My old dog always slipped his collar. Aside from which, I always said that the person who managed to lay hands on him could have him.Nobody touched that dog without his consent save for his masters and those they said had permission to touch him.
I picked up two dogs in the street in front of me just today. They would not get out of the busy road, so I called them and they jumped in my car. Neither had tags, but one had a microchip. I really hope their family picks them up from the animal shelter.
It seems Farley gets great fluctuations in his weight. Maybe it’s his fur and shedding, or the artist and perspective. I used to think that it was a plot twist, and it wasn’t Farley, but it always was.
They’re lucky it was animal crontrol that picked him up and not some creep that would take him to a puppy mill. Farley will come home. That’s how they end up with Eddy.

Darn you, Pattersons! That’s what you get for not registering the dog!

Hopefully they will think to look at the pound, and they’ll find him. But will they have to pay a bundle to get him out?

I thought Animal Control WAS the blue van…it is in my neighborhood

Oh, will somebody please put John out at the curb? Not even animal control will pick HIM up.

The Patterson’s never had Farley neutered, either. Most dog owners are more responsible today.

Many dogs can slip a collar – and do when they want to. even a harness can be slipped by a resourceful dog.

I wouldn’t jump to conclusions that they neglected to license him. He may have simply slipped his collar. Happens all the time.
