Please Please Me, The Beatles first US release in February 1963, sold only 7310 copies! Golf was invented in 15th century Scotland, but the 18 hole course wasn't created until 1764 and did not reach the US until 1892. The Antlike Jumper spider is so named because it mimics the appearance of a large Weaver ant carrying a smaller worker.

I wonder how many of The Beatles’ original 7,310 copies still remain although we’re in the digital age 512 years later.

I heard golf has eighteen holes because there are eighteen shots in a fifth of whisky. (If it’s scotch, it’s spelled “whisky”, other kinds are spelled “whiskey”.)

I don’t get how “Jumper Spider” is named. Wouldn’t it be something more like “Ant Spider”?

It’s such a shame to see Ripley’s getting it wrong; makes you doubt everything they proclaim! The TRUE story of the origin of golf…
“If you have ever seen a dragon in a pinch, you will realize that this was only poetical exaggeration applied to any hobbit, even to Old Took’s great-granduncle Bullroarer, who was so huge (for a hobbit) that he could ride a horse. He charged the ranks of the goblins of Mount Gram in the Battle of the Green Fields, and knocked their king Golfibul’s head clean off with a wooden club. It sailed a hundred yards through the air and went down a rabbit-hole, and in this way the battle was won and the game of Golf was invented at the same moment.”― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit
