Before she retired my wife was self-employed and worked from her home office. She got along really well with her boss and co-workers but the cleaning staff (that would be me) left a lot to be desired. However, she got to attend my Christmas parties.
You can be a party pooper and no one will complain.
Any day you don’t have to work can be a party day. And you can call it anything you want.
