In 1879, Benjamin B. Oppenheimer patented a fire escape parachute to flee a burning building! African Grey parrots are capable of learning 1000 word vocabularies! Don't even axe me! Sheldon Mipofu of Yorkshire, England, survived after swinging a pickax into his skull, just missing his brain!

You’re remarkable, Mr. Mpofu! As for Mr. Oppenheimer, wouldn’t the parachute catch fire? As for the cartooned bird, only 989 words to go.

Remember the dog who knew a thousand words from a few days ago? And I said, “So what, we have an African Grey who can say pretty much that many words.”Prouds been listening in on my comments like the Govment!

A miner, tamping black powder into a hole once, had it explode. The explosion drove the tamping rod through his bottom jaw and out the top of his skull. He survived, despite the rod destroying part of his brain. The part that controlled his temper and ability to self censor his speech from all reports. Mpofu got off easy compared to that.

The first “skyscraper” was completed in Chicago in 1884, and was 138 feet high. In 1879, I’m not sure there was a straight sided building tall enough to allow the “fire escape” parachute to deploy.
