You know, somebody is going to come here and say Shakespeare didn’t write it.

There seems to be a lot of Shakespeare in GoComics these days. Pibgorn has its characters performing Romeo and Juliet, and now this.

Calvin would have preferred Bacon.;<)

And I almost forgot: Dick Tracy had a bit of King Lear.

There’s something to be said about eating food that can quote Shakespeare. Can’t think of what, though…

Watterson must have enjoyed Disney’s “Weekenders” cartoon when it came out. Tino’s mom’s cooking did this sort of thing. I still chuckle over the time the kids ate a plate of organic potscrubbers thinking they were cookies.

I never read Shakespeare until I was in highschool, let alone when I was 5 or 6 years old.

No one has done the comic strip as well as Bill Watterson since he retired. The man is a genius.

Love the expression in the first frame – poking tongue out. Also like how Calvin pokes at his food to make it respond to his prodding.This must be one of the few times that Calvin actually eats his green gloop – even if it is just to make it shut-up.

Calvin Dude does have a good background in culture. He is not as uneducated as he makes himself out to be. He must have a high IQ for a kid his age. I am impressed.
