I was once with a group of people observing a group (herd?) of elk up close. Someone moved and one of the elk looked up and saw us. I swear to you that if there had been a thought bubble over the elk’s head, it would have read, “Well, there goes the neighborhood.”
I love the tiny little “nyup nyup” in the 5th posture of the second strip. I’ve so often watched my cat go through this wakeup scenario. Made me wonder if the inventors of hathayoga had cats.
We have a cat my daughter brought home from a neighbor when she was in grade school. She loved playing with the cat he was a feisty kitten back then. We find out as the cat got older he work so hard during the night and could not wait until we got up so he snatch the bed thinking about time now my turn to sleep. At night he just as we get ready for bed he go to living room and find his makeshift bed and curl up to sleep. He loves tuna water. Today’s strip reminds me of our male cat we call Tiger.
Hobbes: I just now saw your post to me yesterday over at “Cathy’s Corner.” Thanks so much for stopping by to “see” me!!!!! I hope you’ll come by again soon [not to mention more often!!]. I love to see your happy, smiling avatar face and to read your comments whenever possible because they’re always so sweet, clever and/or funny that you never fail to lift my spirits whenever I do!!!!! :-)
It is a lot emptier over there these days where our old “regulars” are concerned. A few, like me, are there just about every day. Others comment very rarely, and there have been a few that have mysteriously disappeared altogether without a trace [so I’m not even sure they’re still around]. My “soulsister”, lightenup, is preparing to move from the U.S. to Spain shortly so visits from her will be very rare [if at all] for quite a while until her house is finished and her kids are settled. I sure am going to miss her!!!!! :-(
See??? Now you’re going to have to make another appearance over there again soon in order to cheer me up!!!!! ;-)
Hi GretchensMom. Well, even when you feel that you need cheering up, you always do a good job of cheering others up — and setting a good example for others by the positive nature of your postings.

Yeah, Hobbes, the world would be a great place to live, if it wasn’t for all the sodding PEOPLE in it, wouldn’t it!?

I like how Bill studied these jungle cats. A work of art!

What is especially appealing and expressive is Hobbe’s eyebrow in the penultimate panel.

Yes the poses of hathayoga are said to be inspired by watching animals we even have poses named after cat.

I know that, when I’m home, my tiger cat spends much time standing guard at the windows. So he deserves his rest.

Love the second panel too. My cat sleeps like that (and probably also dreams about tuna.)

Fine tuna, Hobbes!!

He’s dreaming about tuna, but it also looks like it could be what his breath smells like.
