See my postings here at Calvin and Hobbes from a week ago on Sunday, June 15th. I posted several links, all six strips from the week of Bill Watterson’s collaboration with Stephan Pastis, and the final Calvin and Hobbes strip:Click here: Calvin and Hobbes, June 15th Comments
Here’s one that we read a couple of years ago:Click here:Calvin and Hobbes (June 8, 1992)And here’s one that we read a year ago:Click here: Calvin and Hobbes (May 23, 1993)
For those readers not familiar with baseball, here is the best song about the game by John Fogerty — “Centerfield”-http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=04KQydlJ-qc
@Hobbes, thanks again for all your hard work making this strip and the others in your posts so much fun to relive. I love your new links to zoomed in versions of the extra comics. That really helps to see and enjoy them. You’re the best.
@belgarathmth: Glad you enjoy the extra strips. I always enjoy revisiting the older strips, so for years I’ve kept track of my favorites and the dates they were published, so that I can locate them again. The tricky thing with GoComics is that a lot of the strips that they have stored under the original dates do not include enlargements. So I generally try to find a rerun of the strip from more recent years where the enlarging is available. The enlargements really allow you to appreciate the artwork a lot more.

Baseball could be quite complicated for Charlie Brown’s team also. Here’s one from the fifth year of Peanuts:Click here: Peanuts (July 31, 1955)

I love baseball, but the games can be long at times.

Calvin was pretty well winded at twenty-fifth base.

Calvinball is so much better than baseball
True but it looks way harder and exhausting

But, let’s take a break from Calvin’s life on the lam from pushing his folks’ car into a ditch for a little Calvinball…

@Vince M: Yes, here are some pictures of that Peanuts View-Master set. The characters looked like dolls.

Calvin is just a bundle of energy; he can wear you out just watching him rush around.
