You want some REAL confusion? There’s a city in southern Washington, right across the Columbia from Portland, called Vancouver, Washington
As any FedEx or UPS manager how often freight going there gets misrouted to Vancouver, BC, Canada. ( and vice-versa )

@ Simon_Jester: That’s almost as confusing as the fact that there are two Portlands — Maine and Oregon, located on opposite sides of the continent — and I’m never sure which is being referred to unless the specific state is mentioned.
