I really can't stay but baby, it's cold outside! I've got to go way but, baby, it's cold outside! Baby, it's cold outside! I'm her telepathic fluffy duet partner!
that song was performed on the Glee tv show about 2 seasons ago by Kurt and Blaine. Beautifully done I might add. bought the christmas cd. wonderful…..
This song was a big hit for Buddy Clark and Dinah Shore in 1949. Dinah had a big career and is well remembered, and Clark not as much. Clark, born Samuel Goldberg, had a great voice and was just about to reach superstar status when he died in a plane crash the same year this song was released.

Cute and reflective of the eastern US.

That song always disturbed me.

For you it disturbed, for me it delighted. Great counter melodies matched with clever counter conversation.
My favorite rendition is the humorous take by Red Skelton and Betty Garrett from “Neptune’s Daughter”.

Thanks Guy – you’ve done it again!

Thank you for that link. It certainly does put a different spin on the song.

My 3 cats seem to sing this whenever I have to go out—they lay on my coat. LOVE the Johnny Mercer and Margaret Whiting version of the song!

I always imagine a version in which I sing, “You’ve got to go out” and my dachshunds sing back, “But, Daddy, it’s cold outside.”
