Good job, puppy. Now you have your way clear to become a shameless suck up completely devoid of any canine nobility. That’s my view of dogs who beg at the table.

We are pet parents to two Shelties. The experts say Shelties are among the smartest of all the breeds, as they can learn a new command in 3-5 repetitions. My wife and I have noticed that we are learning the dogs commands (“demands”?) in about the same number of repetitions, and we’re wondering who’s training who, more often.

Seems to me the training is going well, everything on shedule. We have a lot to learn from dogs … lol!

My afghan hounds can learn a command in two or three repetitions – but they can get my DH to perform generally in only one or two reps. I’m pretty much untrainable, but they have another go at me from time to time. No quitters, those hounds! rotfl!

My friend’s cat, a rather large Blue Russian learned that I would not put up with her ON the dining room table. No swats or water sprays. Just pick her up and put her on the floor. Repeatedly.

She caught on quickly and discovered I would let SIT at the table. Which resulted in my friend giving her a small plate and a few tidbits from her own plate.

My rescue dog understands English, French & Danish , having travelled widely. Doesn’t mean she obeys English, French & Danish..
