It’s not that hard. You pour the charcoal in a hill in your grill, you soak it with fire starter, you wait five or ten minutes, then you light it with a long match or a long-necked propane lighter. You wait until the brickets turn gray, you use a shovel or fireplace tool to smooth it evenly, wait a few more minutes for the charcoal to turn completely gray again if it hasn’t, then you put the grill grate on and charcoal your food. If it flames up, either spritz it with water in a sprayer or close the cover.
