I know it’s a cartoon staple, but it isn’t all that hard to grill and barbecue. I’ve been charcoal grilling successfully ever since my first little hibachi in the 1970s until now when I have a 22 inch Weber grill just like his. I’ve grilled innumerable delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, chickens, pork chops, and other delectables; the most recent was a tri-tip last week which came out perfectly. I’ve also had success barbecuing baby back ribs and pulled pork. But then, I always use my chimney starter and NEVER allow the coals to flare up like that. Of course, there’s a certain schadenfreude in chuckling over the misadventures of hapless cartoon grillers.

Loved this every time it’s gone around but it is hard to read. Fortunately, my magnifying glass was up to the task.

    Never grill without the fire-extinguisher.

At least you get a show. Un intended, but a bit thrilling, and funny, in a sad way. The evening show is even more spectacular. The leaping flames contrast dramatically against the night sky.
