And I see he has his jacket with the patchwork elbows. Are they back in style again? Or is he like me and hardly ever upgrades the wardrobe as long as we can make it work?

Ken, I was going to say that the only thing that scares me is the patches on the elbow..What a stoopid style that was, eh?

My husband and I did exactly the same thing, celebrating on Saturday evening. Except that on Valentine we had a nice dinner at home. So lucky.

Went out to the local Applebee’s for a Valentine’s Day dinner and it was exactly as Arlo described it, very noisy(mostly because of the background “music”. and overpriced but I have to say the food was reasonably good!

Arlo comes through…never settle for less..

Send the kids to grandma’s. A steak and a bottle of wine, candles, and a good romance DVD (“The Lake House” is a good choice), have we need for anything else?

As I’ve said before, I looked at an old picture and found that a long red paisley dress that I wear for specail occasions is at least forty years old! Seems as if it should hold up as long as I do. At least I’ve cut most of the shoulder pads out of my clothes by now. I have plenty broad shoulders, and when coat pads were piled on top of dress pads, it got to be a bit much.

I’ve never seen a gal on a date wear a white dress in February!

Gokie5: Elaine Boosler had a comment about shoulder pads in a blouse, sweater, jacket, overcoat. She claimed every time she wore all that, she was tackled by a linebacker.

BB DMan515: It made a brief comeback a few years ago. I think Boosler’s comment destroyed it.

It only makes sense just as long as they didn’t go back to the same place.
