Ripley's Believe It or Not! The X-15 rocket plane, launched in 1959 and still the fastest manned aircraft, could fly at 4,520 mph -- or from London to New York in 45 minutes. Tell me why! In 2011, a Canadian dentist paid over $30,000 for one of John Lennon's teeth, extracted in the 1960s -- and he hopes to obtain DNA to create a clone of the ex-Beatle! Here's the beef! Chris Thompson of Philadelphia, Pa., makes business cards from beef jerky!

If we’re going to get a Lennon clone, how about a Harrison clone too? After McCartney and Starr go, how about clones of them as well?

The X-15 CAN’T fly from NY to London in 45 minutes because it burns all of its fuel in just a very few minutes (far less than 45), & glides back for a high speed landing.

Surely in 55 years, we’ve built something that goes faster than what the X-15 could do!

I thought the USAF’s “Dyna-Soar” project was scrapped for the Space Shuttle…. or perhaps “Dyna-Soar” was shelved in leau of The Apollo missions.

They need to quantify the X-15 fact as “declassified manned aircraft”. Rumours that I’ve heard is we (the public) still don’t know the top speed of the SR-71.
And since they retired it, you know the government has something else that replaced it…

I am now playing the Beatles’ “Tell Me Why” so I don’t have Taylor Swift, Neil Young, or the Backstreet Boys in my head.

@Night-Gaunt49—-I don’t believe that the X-15 program was actually “scrapped” as such. I think it accomplished all project goals it was designed for, & since the project was complete, it came to a natural end & not cut off unfinished.

How would anyone who is not a dentist know what pulling teeth is like?
