Nice improv here, actually, and personally, if I were in the audience watching this, I would think it was part of the show and laugh because i thought they were making a deliberate joke. In short, it works out in the end.
The real question, though? Where did they get the sock?
The return of Laugh-In? ( Sock it to me, baby! )
Looks like they’re hosed.
How did they caulk a ship? Evidently they put a sock in it.
