Well, at least Elly & Claire aren’t in the same restaurant with the rude waitress again.

I think she is just resting her arm…and those mugs filled with beer (?) do tend to be heavy… ;)

The colorist seems to think that Elly & Clair’s wardrobes are made up entirely of pink and purple.

Judgemental much? Puh-leeze! Neither is shown as having taken so much as a sip yet. I don’t know about you, but when I’m seated at a table my natural inclination is to rest my arms on it. Your prejudices are showing, and they are not becoming. BTW, with reference to your reference the other day to me being a “newbie” to the strip, guess again. I’ve been reading it since its first run- in NEWSPAPERS. Remember them?

I think most of the comments are sarcasm.

    “Lynn’s Notes:

I went to a bar with one of the women from the workshop, to celebrate our new friendship and to mourn the end of a wonderful event. We were in our 30s, and guys at another table made suggestive comments and lewd gestures the whole time we were there. I remember thinking, “I make smart-*$& comments for a living, but I can’t think of one clever put-down to fling at these Neanderthals.” It was frustrating!!!"

and no matter how Lynn chose to draw Elly’s arm in the third panel, I really didn’t notice (nor most people here), but I got the gist of the whole comic, which was priceless.

Not if you’re British or Canadian, then it is indeed “judgemental.”

Not in Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, it’s not. In all four countries, “judgemental” is considered the proper spelling — it’s we Americans who are considered the oddballs!

I like that Elly wore her hair down in this strip. She looks much cuter and relaxed. :-)

Dear Sarcastic Commentators,Do you know why your sarcasm fails? It’s because sarcasm is conveyed by body language and tone of voice as well as by words. If you do not think so, try spending time with someone who has been legally blind since birth. I work with several and despite being extremely sharp, technically savvy people, sarcasm goes right over their heads because of the lack of visual queues. So many flame wars start on the web because so many fail to realize sarcasm does not translate to text.Perhaps we need a punctuation mark to indicate sarcasm. I would like to suggest the tilde ~
