    Of course it makes sense. He’s making Moondog more appealing to the zombies so that they eat him and Monty escapes.

    According to the professor in Day of The Dead (1985) my favorite zombie film, the zombies don’t eat because they are hungry. Their eating is instinctive. He demonstrates this in his lab on a zombie with its stomach removed; it still tries to eat. So mustard or ketchup are rather unlikely to arouse the zombies’ appetite.

    In fact, judging by what a cheapskate Monty is, they are probably the cheapest brand and will probably repel the zombies instead.
