Good morning, all!How can Sam identify human bones on the spot? And what an idiot Silver is, leaving all this evidence? He could have left a full confession…
Just because Sam says the bones are fresh doesn’t mean the skeleton was totally torn apart. Being a police detective, one would think he would know a human when he sees one. And how ’bout that Officer Doherty! Hooray!
Well, Tracy has key evidence with the Captain Video reel, too. It seems like Silver’s hasty departure didn’t give him much chance to destroy evidence.
The train station might be slightly “retro” seeing as how the Silver Zephyr just left from there, so I don’t have any problem with the arrival and departure boards, but the angle of the chief’s forearm does both me a bit.
Takes a Licking, Keeps on Ticking!”.“So unappreciated”, the wrist genie’s lamented,As they continued to function, communications cemented.“No one give a second thought,Of how we’ve helped in battles fought!”“Through thick and thin, rain and sleet,We help bring villains, to defeat!”“Lightning bolts to demonstrateWe’re on the job and never late!”“I guess we’ll just accept the fact,They’ll never pat us on the back.”“We’ll be content to never fall,Connecting each and every call!”
JPuzzleWhiz: But Sam did say “someone’s been feeding somebody to an animal…”.Did I miss something? How did people know it was Doherty on Tuesday?.Other thoughts: Possible jump to conclusion, since no one knows Miles has been around lately, perhaps the cops will assume Sprocket killed Silver? All they know is that someone is dead; unless they read the comments, they have no idea who it is. And I doubt that the Nitrates have any DNA samples already on file..Hard to judge the intelligence of the Nitrates. Silver knows there will be a chase, so he hopes the train will get the cops going in the wrong direction. How he plans to recover his vehicle, or why he would bother to do so, is far less clear..But I agree with others, above, that leaving bones in the basement was a pretty dumb thing to do. I thought the part about feeding Miles to Lena was to destroy evidence, not create it!.Last, and certainly least: Were it not for the murder (and a grisly one at that), the Nitrates have certainly been an enjoyable pair of comic relief criminals..But I don’t really see them coming out of this alive.
It’s been bothering me how this crime is do dumb, as far as Silver is concerned, but I just realized something. If he plans to double back, after the cops are off on a wild goose chase, then he could meet with Vitamin and collect the money that they agreed upon. That’s probably why Silver seems to be acting like everything is going along smoothly. (Of course, he doesn’t know that Vitamin knows that the whole deal is crooked)
It is so nice to be reading a strip that is both fun and intelligent, well drawn, consistently engaging, and where the lead writer and artist acknowledge the team that makes the whole strip come together. Just had to say! Thanks again, Team Tracy!
Modern communications devices are making the detective work fast and efficient today! And thanks to Officer Doherty’s alert identification of Sprocket Nitrate, Lizz is already at the train station. If the Nitrates double back exactly, they may run into her (and vice versa). Meanwhile Tracy and Sam are gathering evidence at the Lyric Theater, so the Nitrates will be arrested and detained long enough for the murder to be sussed out. Either that, or Silver will foolishly decide to try to make a run for it, maybe unleashing Lena Hyena on Lizz,Tracy, and Sam. That could be a fatal mistake, both for Lena and for Silver.
Clearly, Silver is in charge of the Nitrates’ operation. However, given the mistakes he’s made (leaving the bloody jacket in a nearby dumpster, leaving Mycroft’s bones behind) he is obviously not the brains of the outfit.
Chief’s arm coming out of his chin?.Hey, that’s the way Tracy has always been drawn when he’s talking on that wrist radio!.Perhaps why the wrist radio never really caught on in the real world!

It looks like Liz is at the airport and Doherty was at the train station. Good job by Patton and the MCU.

Officer Doherty in the thick of things again. Also, I think Lizz must be at the train station, not the airport. Looking lovely as ever in any case.
