For some odd reason my girlfriend always likes to claim that I’m forgetful, but I’ll have her know that I will be buying her a Valentine’s Day present sometime in the next week or so, so I’m sure I’ll be way ahead of schedule……..Today’s strip might have worked as a Sunday strip, with Andy’s testimony taking up a few panels (no wasted ones, I hope!), and the judge delivering the punchline.
I love this song… It has the word ‘Hearts’ in the title and Valentine’s Day is full of hearts so… To be honest, I just felt like posting it because it’s so great.
Try this one for a view of our ONLY rail line to London and anywhere else..http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Flood-rail-spending-vow-8216-new-money-8217/story-20620815-detail/story.html
The waterside route was designed by I K Brunel and is a quite an attraction. Normally the flooding does cause some problems, but nothing like we’ve experienced lately. I might have mentioned it before but try looking up “Atmospheric railway” on Wikipedia..The line runs inland from Plymouth but after Newton Abbot (where I used to live) it runs parallel to the River Teign, then goes coastal after Teignmouth. After that, at Dawlish Warren, it turns up the river Exe, via Starcross to Exeter. That’s the extent of it’s coastal “journey”..We can’t afford to rule the waves anymore as we pay too much to the European Union and to other countries (as foreign aid) who can’t be bothered to distribute the wealth to the people .
Yes, we have bus services to all parts of the country but they take so long and often involve changes. I recently took a coach (bus) to visit my step mother who lives under 2 hours car drive away. It took around four hours, as I had to change about 13 miles away from her home city. I had to wait an hour for the right connection..The return journey was just as bad but we had Scottish drivers whose every other word began with F, C, B etc. Amusing for a short while……
