Knowing that you only have a limited amount of time to accomplish something helps to reduce procrastination (though not eliminate it). When you know that you have an indefinite amount of time, it’s so easy to tell yourself that you can do it later, and accordingly you keep putting it off — until you finally reach crunch time, when you have no choice but to do it, or suffer the consequences.
