I think you’re right. Although it’s difficult with the pun. A criminal might expect to be hanged but a painting would expect to be hung. I recall that Ronald Ryan was the last man hanged in Australia in 1967 so the term is not in common use here in Oz any more.Either way, I hope he gets a suspended sentence.
