… said every generation of people, ever..Get off your high horse and understand that just because the generation after you or me, and the one after that, and the one after that, etc., is different, does not mean that they don’t matter..And don’t forget: you helped raise the generation that followed you, so don’t think you shouldn’t take any of the blame for what they are.
Joanie is supposed to be about 20 years older than the Walden generation—her daughter, JJ, was only about 17 when the Waldenites graduated. The Waldenites are just turning 50, so Joanie is around 70.
I called Ann Callis, running for the 13th congressional district Illinois. I told her up front that I was almost 70, couldn’t canvass or hear well enough to work a phone bank, but would do paperwork and office work. She invited me to lunch, devoted time to getting to know me and has made me a member of her campaign team. Her campaign manager thanks me for my work so often I have started rolling my eyes ( on the phone, he can’t see me)- and I am the one that should be thanking them. Many people my age have nothing more interesting in their lives than Bingo night. I’ve got the opportunity to contribute. When you’re seventy, that is a very precious gift.
So, if EW is 64, then this airhead assumes Joanie is…85, at least? Either she doesn’t know anything about her own boss, or doesn’t know anything about aging. I vote for All of the Above.
There is good news and bad news. The good part is that Alpha House has been renewed for another season. The bad part is that there will be a lot more Doonesbury reruns in our future.
GT has just announced an extended hiatus on the horizon. Bummer.http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/2014/02/11/garry-trudeau-will-suspend-daily-doonesbury-strip-focus-show/v0896Nrni2MgL8EHQRNwkM/story.html

We were told yesterday that GT’s mother died recently, hence the repeats.

When are the reruns going to quit? Or are they? Maybe this is it forevermore, reruns.

Those who don’t appreciate the elderly are very short sighted. Their opinions will likely change, eventually.

I know Sen. Warren looks hot, but wouldn’t she be about the same age as Joanie??
caligula almost 11 years ago
That’s OK, Obama did the same thing to the Emperor of Japan, and most people, potentially including him and his staff, are completely unaware of it.

Joanie is so going to kill that kid. She could claim old age, not being able to think straight as a defense??
