I’m fine with partly accredited. Lots of accredited folks fell for the Alan Sokal hoax. And not just the gibberish part – they bought the thesis that quantum gravity is a social and linguistic construct.

People have suggested that if GT is into reruns that he ought to use his earlier material. The reason he doesn’t is because people would be able to see how far he’s fallen since his salad days when he was an equal opportunity satirist and not the one-note one he is now.

Credits from the old Walden weren’t accepted anywhere. The new Walden will have some cash flow and therefore some money with which to bribe some of the sleazier accrediting bodies frequented by the other for-profits who have to add the small print to their television ads mentioning that credits may not transfer. Yes, you too can accumulate a ton of student loan debt and qualify for a menial job. It’s kind of a reverse diploma. If you shell out to attend one of those, you’re then certifiably ignorant.

I do believe that those here complaining about the reruns are dong so in large part because these comics repeated are barely a year old, if that. Plenty of us would love to see some of the more classic Doonesbury, even if it was only a few years, old rather than that which is just a few months from original publication.
