This actually happened to a friend of mine. The doctor told him to stop carrying his wallet in his back pocket and his back stopped hurting.
Same thing happened to me, but I didn’t see a doctor. For me the pain was in my legs. It’s kind of a pain to get the wallet out of the front pocket, but that’s okay for no pain.
I remember in late 50s-60s it was called left hip syndrome, even in right hip. Term has disappeared.
The alternative is to get a purse, and then you have shoulder problems.
