Wow – This means I was right yesterday about ownership, displays, etc.! (It also means I won’t be right again for the rest of the year. Still, it’s a better average than I’d get buying lottery tickets…).-———Okay, Silver and Sprocket may have a car with machine guns, but if they don’t have snow tires…
So, the car actually does belong to the Nitrates, and it has for years! That’s a big surprise. I figured out already that the “air horns” were probably guns of some sort. What surprises me about that is that they point forward. In the event that they got chased, wouldn’t it be better for them to point backwards? Maybe they are maneuverable to different directions.
Good morning, DT fans!I thought “enhancements” meant inserting electronic devices, like GPS and, well, all things of up-to -date gizmos. I was right about Wormy car’s horns, though. And yes, they were mobile. Only, the Nitrates are scammers, not murderous killers like the unlamented Wormy. Why do they need such things?
I guess this happened before Chicago got sour on mounting twin Gatlings (or whatever) on one’s car. Ditto on the comment of whether they are the pursuer or the pursued.
I never did have an air horn in my car, but I did have a musical horn for awhile. Had lots of fun with it when I was in High school and college. Played Star Wars theme, Christmas carols, and other songs with it. Pain in the posterior to program though.
Is it just me, or are the seas (er, Lake Michigan) getting a bit choppy?.The museum owner sends the Nitrates away in a car, calling him, “Mr. Jones.” Was that strictly to distract us? Now we know that the Nitrates owned the car under their name, the Nitrates..I think I missed something somewhere..Ashmael and Gweedo: Ralston Purina Hyena Chow is the other big disconnect I have with this story. Sans the murder, Ashmael is correct. But the Nitrates did commit a murder, and did so in a most casual manner..Otherwise, the Nitrates may well have been intended for comic relief!
So, it’s recorded in a police database (or some other reference tool) that this car has been modified with machine guns, and nobody’s thought to talk to the Nitrates and ask “So…what’re the machine gun air horns for?”
I wonder what the purpose of Mike & Joe setting us up with the embellishments on the car? Unless it is setting up a big chase. Reminds me of the cargo ship “Oregon” of Clive Cussler fame.
Submachine guns aren’t machine guns; their limited range and accuracy will make them a lesser threat except at close quarters! Think of the gimmicked-up car as being like a gangbanger with a couple of MAC-10s…. It is well for Pat to warn Dick, but not a cause for panic. It is rather odd that this modification would have been allowed in the first place, however; I’d expect it to be illegal anywhere in the USA.
The killing by the Nitrates was a bit dissonant with the character, I mean, not the rype to garrote, chop and serve to the hyena a disgruntled employee. Wormy instead appeared a vicious killer from the start.
So that explains the additional gadgets like the horns.I knew the car didn’t have them originally. I still find itrather amazing how they restored a car that was burneddown to charred steel. A totally burned-up car couldn’t be worth restoring. The intense heat would have weakenedthe strength of the metal.

So the Nitrates aren’t even honest enough to restore a car properly.

Good morning everyone…
Please stop fighting, guys. I didn’t get up at 2:30 in the morning to read a series of negative comments.

So they legally restored a car with actual working machine guns? Is that street legal? (Other than in Texas? Snicker…)

Chasing bad guys who installed submachine guns in their airhorns? I hate it when that happens.

So I was right….machine guns like James Bond’s famous car. Wonder what other ideas they stole to take out pursuit vehicles…?
