Hobbes is a stuffed tiger when anyone else is around, not just adults.

Actually, on a snow day, the people who clear the snow get called at 4am, so Calvin is not completely out of line. His father might not undrestand though. It’s amazing how tolerant Calvin’s parents are. They are trully exceptional, absolutely exemplary. I’ve been reading this strip for a number of years, a devoted fan, but many I don’t remember, and I wonder if Watterson isn’t writing new Calvin and Hobbes adventures on this venue.

I didn’t even have my teacher’s number…let alone the superintendent! :-)

Actually, the strip never does resolve the question of Hobbes—only that there are two possible points of view. And each is self-consistent—so either Hobbes is a stuffed tiger, or a real one who only looks stuffed to everyone else.
