If I were in today’s strip I’d be ashamed to have any eye contact with the readers! (Is anybody besides me sick of almost EVERY strip breaking the 4th wall? There’s a time and place for it, it can be very effective, but so often the current “creative” team uses it as a crutch to prop up a weak gag. Or maybe when the characters look out at the readers, they’re hoping to see people with talent who can take over the strip, like Number 6 and Mikeyj!)
Oh, one more thing: does anybody doubt that in the good ol’ days of the Andy crowd, that “little Norm” wouldn’t have been banished to the sidelines, or even fed to the pigeons? (Whatever happened to the good ol’ days, and the good ol’ Andy crowd? And the good ol’ ANDY?)

I get it. Not terribly funny, but I get it.
