The other interesting thing is how quickly Jim and Sarah made their decision, no arguing or complaining. Its like they made a logical analysis of their situation, realized that Wally was right and that they had nothing to lose and went with it.
@Darwinskeeper: The transparency effect is done in Photoshop layers. You can adjust the opacity of any layer you choose. The effect is like laying tracing paper over a drawing. However, there can be lots of layers and it looks like the bottom is opaque with each layer being a bit more transparent. At least 3 layers in panel 3 and 2 in panel 4.
It looks like the “drones” are pretty big, full size ‘chopper at least. I’d WAG big beam generators inside to sweep the area. And the “bent” fuselage shape might be to accomodate air lifting a single transporter. Alternately, the lower half of the head might rotate for 360 beam coverage. Now, if the beam emitter come out of the “mouth”, that would be too silly.
My inner engineer/model-builder is looking for opportunities.
From the way Jim and Sarah are acting I don’t think the drones are capture.I think more like total destruction of the area.I would reference back to Holly’s flash back when the choppers came into their area. That was one big explosion. Just think if each one releases such a weapon all on cue to over lap destructive potential. Everything including Albion West would be just more Great Waste. No more ruins, tunnels, anything. May have been what happened in the Endtown area just Endtown itself was just far enough below where Albion West is just under the streets.Just if the drones were to release their weapons now they would be caught in the blast area. I am just wondering are they themselves the weapon. One way drones. Move to assigned locations and detonate as one. That would be a massive impact.
The suggestion that the whole drone might be just a bomb might not be far off the mark. The “zero bombs” from vol.2 were pretty big, much larger than a conventional nuke for the same level of coverage, so sending in a formation of drones for a saturation strike might be what’s coming.
I’d say the fact that Clive stopped mouthing off and started moving as soon as Sarah mentioned drones suggests the seriousness of the situation. On February 6th one of the TS said “THEY’RE PURELY FOR ATTACK AND DEMOLITION. IF THEY SPOT US, WE’RE DEAD… IF NOT, STILL DEAD.” Demolition suggests some kind of bomb with it looking for a target. If they find it, they drop the bombs (or explode) near the target. If they don’t find anything they’ll bomb the ruins to hopefully get whatever they were looking for. I can’t see them using a beam weapon as that would be too focused.
Unbelievable as opposed to, oh, numerous other bizarre things that have already happened? I’m reminded of a series I used to watch, whose name escapes me now, in which the main characters routinely dealt with supernatural matters. Yet, oddly enough, in several instances at least one of them would express skepticism when another reported on the latest unexplained weirdness. That was what I found hard to believe.

Blast radius never cares much for whether you’re visible or not.

What about the cloud of dust raised while Clive moves on?

Never a dull moment!Except inside Holly’s head, where she is listening to an endless loop of the elevator version of “Girl from Ipanema”..

dont remember topsiders being this agressive after the death of 2 of them
weve seen topsiders getting killed before but this is the first time they send a drone strike in response

There is if the drones will just bomb indiscriminately.

Crookedwolf- the notion of Holly with a cheesy muzak version of the “Girl from Ipanema” cracks me up.

Poor Holly. She’s so fragged right now, it’ll be interesting to see if Wally can find all the pieces, much less put them all back together.
