Okay, I’m going back to my old discussion from a few weeks ago… They’ve had time to make giant hordes of mechanized, flying death robots powered by mutant brains… and they still don’t know how people mutate into different things? SHENANIGANS!!!
Sarah has confirmed that the drones are a new development, which suggests that the lords of the topside have far greater resources than I had imagined. At first I had assumed that the Topsiders were sitting on a large stockpile of biosuits, weapons, transporters and manufactured components. Flask’s comment in the beginning of the “Countdown” story arc that the rocket probably represented several years worth of scavenging components reinforced that assumption. The launch of the second rocket blew that assumption away. The Topsiders not only had the capability to design, build and launch a whole new rocket but it appeared to be much more advanced than the one Flask was familiar with. Now we have a swarm of large, well armed drones that have hit the scene in less than a year Endtown time. This suggests that the Topsiders not only have sophisticated manufacturing capabilities but an incredible supply of raw materials. Its one thing to build one large rocket but this is something else. I mean even hyper sophisticated 3D printers need feedstocks. The other question is why are the drones coming now? Its been at least six years since the end, why didn’t they develop this capability earlier? I suspect that the Topsider leadership is getting desperate. We’ve known that living in a ziploc bag isn’t the most fun thing in the world, Flask noted that her suicide (about 3 years after the end) wouldn’t have been the first. Maybe Jim and Sarah are the top of an iceberg of people who are so sick of living in their portable personal prison that they are ready to contemplate mutation. This could scare the leadership more than any offensive capability the mutants have and lead them to step up their war and try to exterminate all mutants while they still have followers. It may seem far fetched, given the levers Topsider leadership has at their disposal but how can even the most totalitarian regimes maintain their grip when the masses do not even fear death?
I’m a little curious about Clive. After all, Petey (Mark I: Transporter) made a pretty big deal of not having a name before Albert and Gustine bestowed one on him…yet Clive had one from the get-go.
that’s what I said yesterday! they looked a lot like mutts, same legs, facial expression and all. I’m using a piece of crap computer. It hangs a lot. I can’t see the other comics that lived on my desktop. Like girl genius.Sorry yo complain but this has been a real hard time lately for many reasons.

Field teams are harvesters, so all those drones means a grime number of caught mutants.

I’m guessing a good portion of the MUTT drones used to be Albion residents.

Let’s just hope the Dittos can cover up a vehicle’s heat signature.

How well can those drones be controlled? I mean, you wouldn’t want them to go feral.
