As much as I love Endtown and AN’s hard work to keep us enthralled and entertained. My guilty pleasure was looking for LH’s prosaic prose. At first although I thought it was very clever and fun, a tiny bit of me thought he was stealing fire from Mr. Neathery’s mount Olympus of sublime story telling. As an artist myself, I felt it something akin to me signing a Picasso and calling it a collaboration. Over time I began to see how hard LH works as well, and when his prose went poof, I worried like the rest, and hoped he would come back. Great to see you back, let’s all hope the GoComics gremlins don’t decide to eat your extracurricular efforts for breakfast. I’d gladly offer up my morning croissant as a toasted (not burnt) sacrifice to keep that from happening again. And your painted prose not end up missing in Mr. Neathery’s ether-y..
“To See the Invisible Man” is a science fiction story of a society where criminals can be sentenced to invisibility and no one can see or hear them. It has come true on GoComics.
The question is what is Holly remembering that gives her tears? Is it the ability to use a “human” height kitchen counter without a stepladder or the things that happened to her after Lyn stopped to aid that police officer?
Wecats,I am sorry that you don’t care that Level-Head is back. Many of us do care. This forum at Endtown is a litte different from most because the posters are a closer, more caring group. We DO care about the well being of each other and are sorely troubled when one is missing. Both the old timers and the new comers here in the Endtown family do more than comment on Aaron’ excellent work. We follow each other’s lives. You may have noticed a deeper sense of respect running through these postings than you find at most sites. When one of us is I’ll we comment to that situation. When our brother Level-Head is missing without explanation we express our concern and our joy at his return.
I respect your right to express your disinterest but please let us express our sense of family. Thank you.
I think our favorite mouse is upset that Clive is contet to be a transplanted brain in a transporter because she is not truly content being a what is effectively a transplanted brain in a mouse body. Even though Holly was the one who helped Wally come to terms with his change after several years of angst, we can now see, that deep down, she really has not resolved her own feelings.
If a mind wiping (brain bleaching) were 100% complete, the brain would lose the language capability and have to re-learn it. There would be complex motor functions that would be useful in running the transporter that would also be lost.Since memory is held throughout the brain, something similar to a very strong memory block is more likely in place.
Hello Level…..glad you’re back with your lyrical sack.To the story.I know who Clive is now……he worked for Bruce Wayne….once named Alfred….he was always giving advise on how to cope. Not to a more serious note.It seems these PT’s may perform more duties than just transports. Keeping up moral may be one of the duties. Long patrols can wear on a soldier….Clive may be following programing to help uplift a person. Clive already scanned Holly sensing her conditions both physical and mental I would bet. In our current world we use heart rate, breathing, movements, the so called body language to tell things about a persons well being or mental status.I suspect the PT’s are really far more sophisticated than one would suspect. I am however curious about the more human needs. Like food and a toilet. Can Clive clean his own Porti-pot?Do Topsiders have the normal bodily functions??What happens to Sarah if she is PMSing when she mutates?
First, Thanks to EveryOne for their concern for Level_Head’s status. And thanks to EveryOne who courteously notified GoComics they had an ongoing error. And thanks to Level_Head for being, and for all the contributions he has given to help shine a light on Endtown, and Doc Rat, and posting poems or folks, and letting people know it is alright to shine their lights on EndTown, in a variety of ways. I do admire people who can produce good work, especially in a field that is difficult for me to produce recognisable work. I am not an idol-worshipper, but am willing to express my respect for people who do good things, create and adapt, and maybe see a little something I may have otherwise missed. Endtown is Aaron Neathery’s creation, and I am certainly not going to complain about his work. The same holds for Jenner’s work at Doc Rat. And the same holds for Level_Head and Jenner and others writing poetry or adapting songs to highlight and form connections with historical touchstones, especially with people of a certain age, or who may be younger, but recognise great music.
I would additionally like to thank Level_Head for making me aware of voting, and aware of Doc Rat. As much as I have consumed in medical services, it’s nice to see the humour in an office practice and the personal I have gone on to hopefully add to encouraging people to vote and look at Dot Rat, although my style is quite different from Level_Head’s style.
Anyway, I learned to enjoy voting, and helping Endtown and Doc Rat achieve high scores at TopWebComics, and you can too: . Vote ENDTOWN . Vote Doc Rat .
Vote Hubris . Vote Kevin and Kell . Sincerely, Respectfully & Fraternally, .
First yesterday Clive silently rejected Holly’s words that Clive was a possession of the TopSiders. Today Clive suggests Holly check with her TopSider Pals! The machines may have largely taken over. Clive is most assuredly self-aware, and doesn’t seem too interested or loyal to the TopSiders operations or goals.Fascinatedly, JusSayin
Earlier I mentioned the importance of giving thanks, or attaboys, or bouquets while the people deserving accolades can know their efforts or recognised or appreciated. I would suggest in addition to showering Level_Head with good words after he returned from limbo, we look to our real lives, as well as our online acquaintances, to give flowers, accolades and words of good cheer to all. Whether we are able to support Aaron through Donations and Prints for Purchase buying Merchandise from Amazon or Cafe Press at the links upper right, it would be nice if each and everyone of us sent a brief note of gratitude to Aaron. aaronneathery@gmail.com is still the best way to contact Aaron to inquire about prints, or books 3 and 4, and he would probably love to have his email box jammed with thank you notes, letters of appreciation, and notifications his PayPal account has received hundreds, or better, thousands of dollars in donations between now and the end of the month. Aaron is not a wealthy philanthropist AFAIK, but like everyone else, has living expenses, and unlike most, has ungoing medical challenges that limit his activities and decimates his finances. So if at all possible, send him cash, buy stuff, get everyone you know to follow Endtown, and help them “get” the concept of the story. It is a little out of place here, but I believe Aaron will tolerate it this once. Jenner doesn’t deliberately create Doc Rat as a charity. Jenner may have a good regular job, I don’t know, I think so, but to have Doc Rat a financial success will help justify the work he puts into the creation of a daily strip. Jenner has a donate button at Doc Rat and books for sale. Please contact these talented artist/storytellers and let them know how much you enjoy and appreciate their work.Sincerely, Respectfully & Fraternally, JusSayin

Holly does know what she was, and what the change has cost her. And she’s tried a tower dive at least once. Does she still have a death wish?

You know, for a “erased brain”, there’s some pretty wise mature counseling going on there.
