Ew. Shoes aren’t the best thing to hand down, and not because of the smell. The first person to wear them molds the shoe to their feet, and it’s not good for a child to wear shoes that were meant for someone else’s feet. Maybe if they were done growing and changing, that’s fine, but not as your body is still developing.
I used to get hand-me-downs but, as an only child (regretfully) they used to come from my cousin….. SHE was 7 years older than me and things had to be altered before I could wear them.

if it had not been for hand me downs when I was growing up I would have had very little to wear.
