My late angel Happy was adopted from the local SPCA and was 15. he had been the sole cat of an elderly lady who had to go to a nursing home. The niece didnt want him and left him off there. he became very, very ill had depressed. He was in isolation for 3 months before he was listed for adoption.I fell in love with his face and back story when i saw him on Petfinder. We only had him for two years, two very trying years of many much illness but he was one of the kindest cats I have ever known. He broke my heart but at least he had us to love him until he could meet his elderly lady at the Rainbow Bridge. I will commend our SPCA though, they didn’t give up on him and put him to sleep because of age or illness.
If someone adopted Jack, he would just escape and go back to the warehouse. How are they at breaking windows? Fantastic pictures today! Happy – I WANT that kitten! Too cute. And Linda -I WANT you to feel good today!
We got the brilliant Toshie from the pound. She was hang ing on the side of the cage and yelling at us! She looked like a fruit bat, with big eyes and bigger ears. Smartest animal I’ve ever met. I would carry on long conversation with her and she would look at me the whole time, I swear she could understand everything I said. She was born in a vacant lot and a kind lady was feeding the feral cats there. One day she noticed the mama cat had not come back, the kittens had opened their eyes a few days before. And Toshie was in the pound only 2 days before I said we had to take her, she was too strange looking for anybody else to adopt. A Tortie and grew up to be beautiful! Sorry this is so long, but she was amazing! Lived for 19 wonderful years! I never could bring myself to get another cat.
Petsmart has local adoptions groups use their nice adoption area-the groups must come and care for the cats everyday but PS provides the litter and gives out coupons for various items to people who adopt an animal there-a win win for everyone.
Got my Precious girl at PetsMart. Local Animal Shelter had a dozen cats there that day. She was so shy and afraid of everything that she was close to being put down because they didn’t think anyone would adopt her. She is my life. She loves her “mama” too. I hadn’t planned on adding to the family, but have never regretted it.
I was looking for a dog at the local shelter when i got my girl.Her next stop was going to be the shelter. When I heard about her, I steped in before she could be placed there.She’s not a rescue. She’s a re-home… : )
Hello everyone and again, thank you for caring and for the kind and encouraging messages and pics. They are all astounding! I am off the ventilator as of 15 minutes ago, and if I do well for a day or two, I will be released at long last and go home to my girls and my lil guy and I cant wait to see them. They have been staying with my son and his wife and my son says his wife may not let the dog come home, the brazen hussy plans to steal my terrier!…lol…but then, I do have Fenton, and thank you to his “mom” Susan Sunshine for putting his lovely image up for me. Bev, the cat videos are hilarious, Happy and Eldo, you guys come up with some great ones, and 2 Old (NOT!!) your pics rock, and Lexi too! I am sure I am leaving someone out but, I am tired and dinner is here, so I best go for now. Take care all, and thank you again. {{{{{{{ Many hugs to you all }}}}}}}
Wow, I am glad I waited til now to read Ten Cats because I am first to see Linda’s message!!!! Chesney, time to turn around and break Jack Soames out of the store front! Oliver can be look out.
Our local Petsmart and Petco (Everett,WA) quite often have cat adoption events from local rescue groups. Some kittens, but they really try to find forever homes for the adult kitties. All of mine are “throwaways” and rescues. I wish I could save them all!

I did not know that Petsmart took in homeless pets.

Many pet supply stores will host a cat from a local humane society or rescue organization. The more exposure, the more adoptions happen.
