“Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee/ Killed him a bar when he was only three/ Daveee, Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier.” I haven’t thought of that in decades and now it’s going to be an earworm. Sigh.

Fess Parker played Davy Crockett in the 1950s, Daniel Boone in the 1960s. Boone died in Missouri (where he makes a cameo appearance in James Michener’s “Centennial”), according to legend from eating too many sweet potatoes.

At the Hoop-de-Doo Revue at Walt Disney World they modify it to “Tamed him a bar”, who proceeds to season the show with a long series of un-bear-able bear puns. Same modification, for obvious reasons, at the Country Bear Jamboree.
