Student: In like a lion and out like a lamb.
Frazz: Right.
Student: That saying has two days to avoid being a total crock.
Frazz: I don't know. Lambs can be pretty frisky.
wecats, I hear you. Although I don’t live there, I know for a fact that the folks in the western UP hate April the most….Because of the hills, the unpaved roads are useless. They wash out, sometimes under the road, so it caves as you drive over it..Roads are a combination of mud and ice…The mud will scoot you right into a tree….And snowmobiles are useless too…Not enough snow….and walking isn’t all that safe……
Concern is high now for our neighbors affected by the Oso mudslide in the county just north of us. It is the magnitude of the slide, not the fact of it—we have smaller mudslides around here just about every spring. This March just set a record as being the rainiest ever, and that’s saying a lot for this area. Some years ago my uncle’s entire back yard slid down into the ravine behind his house. March will go out sullen and dripping, as usual.
Generally, in Southern California, the opposite is true. March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion, with mild weather early in the month and rainy weather with snow on the mountains at the end of the month. This year, though, we had rain the last day of February and first two days of March, and it looks like it’s not going to rain until the first two days of April. So for once, it’s true here.

Kids can be pretty frisky, too. Watch all the way to the end, you won’t be disappointed.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152092697026647
