    I have an Atari 800XL in the basement with a similar problem, except it’s the " " key that oesn’t work.

    q looks a lot like g… Just substitute the q key and move on…. .Now that you have piece of mind, go for your morning coffee before it’s too late and the old typewriter becomes a piece of junk.… ! ! !
