How did the first wife bear 69 children? Even allowing her marriage at puberty she would still be having kids at age 60 if she hit puberty at 11.

Must have been lots of twins, triplets, etc. She was certainly fertile. Look at her wrong and she pops out a baby.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feodor_VassilyevAlthough mainstream Mormons no longer practice polygamy, a great-great-grandfather of mine had two wives and fathered 22. Also, U.S. President John Tyler fathered 15 also by two wives.

It takes quite a dose of radiation to make your hair fall out permanently. Certainly an unsafe practice.

Wikipedia says first wife bore 16 sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quads in the span of 40 years. Second wife bore 6 sets of twins and two sets of trips. Wiki says 82 of 87 survived infancy. Incredible.

Homophobia and bigotry are not necessarily related to religious beliefs. Many bigots are not religious and many religious people are not bigots.

I remember those. Thom McAn shoe stores used them; yes, you COULD see if the shoes fit properly. Those memories go back at least 70 years!!!!!
