If the Bible was as unattainable more people would want to read it

tammyspeakslifeOf course ‘the’ Bible really is unobtainable. There are many ‘Bibles’, all differ and in the past people have killed each other over those differences. Since the Bible is a compilation (by Christian councils, Masoretes, the LXX etc) they do tend to differ. Then there is the fact that most of ‘it’ was oral then ms, repeated and copied over and over: just look at differences among the Great Uncials if you don’t believe me!

She owns all those self-helps and maybe has read them but if she doesn’t use the advise in them she will never be helped.

today’s strip gives a hint about these kind of books: if you need books to tell you what to do, then no matter how many books you read, you simply are there to do what others tell you and blame somebody else for the results

There should be a fourth panel: Betty says, “Alex, if you die miserable and unfulfilled, WHY would the Smithsonian want your collection?”

I was not talking about books to follow technical procedures; everybody needs to learn somehow. I meant self help books. If you read them, then there is something wrong to start with. If she is able to get the book, then she should not need to read it, since she knows how to commit
