Good morning, Vagabonds. David, good luck on returning to your career (part time). I remember when you were counting the months, weeks and days toward your retirement. I thought you were going to take time to do your family tree.
Good morning, Vagabonds.Had issues for a while, and said,“the hell with it”.Friday I was telling my care-giver about it. She’s in her mid 20s, and computer wise. Now you’ll have to put up with me again and, I’m not gonna apologize. :-)
@Arye – funny thing is I didn’t do any genealogy at all this past year. Got interested in writing a novel instead. But I still have lots more time on my hands than I did before anyway.
Slim, if “putting up with you” means we get more of your wonderful tales, then bring it on friend. I for one, have missed you.
Today is the last of my evangelism classes (The Way of the Master with Kirk Cameron & Ray Comfort) and the first class of the new women’s bible study. Juggling two simultaneous classes should be fun…….
Good morning Vagabonds..YAH-HOO! welcome home slim!.Clouds, clouds, clouds, but, there’s a hole in the clouds, sun shine around the house. temps in the forties..Woodworker I want you to take this in the spirit in which I give it. Bite your tongue, please don’t even speak of fall until October. ;-) he he.I’m gon’a go with an Actor this week: He is a character actor born in 1909 died 1990.He started his career in 1939 and was a movie house serial regular.Although typecast as a villain he is well known as Jeff King in the serial “King of the Rocket Men” and on TV he was cast as the ill fated brother of the Lone Ranger in the first episode. He gave Superman trouble in a few episodesOther tittles “26 Men”, “Spy Smasher” and “The Corpse Vanishes”..He was the infamous “dead man walking” from early television, an often-told tale about the “corpse” who got up and walked out of a scene on live TV. Thank you, everyone. I’m glad GC finally worked out, thanks to my caregiver. Now I have to think of what to write. Thinking gives me headaches if I do too much of it, and i never know I’ve done too much until it hurts. Oh, well. I’m still waking up in the morning. I make an appointment every evening, to see me in the mirror every morning. :-)
Morning, Vagabonds. Went to the Insperity Golf Tournament in Houston yesterday for Legends Day. Saw Lee Trivino, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus. Had a great time.
Howdy Vagabonds..Is raining right now, temps once again in the forties..Sounds like you had a nice day David. I like Bowling myself having been on league For years..I’ll give the answer to my question later today, that’s assuming I remember to come back or I take a nap or,,,,,,If not tomorrow..Later then..ttfn
Good morning Vagabonds:Welcome back Slim. it’s been a long time.Nice sunny morning right now but they are talking either pop-up showers or a thunderstorm in the middle of the day and early evening. At least we don’t have to go anywhere today. Last three Sundays have been going to someones house, either for b’day parties or Easter.
Mark, you picked an obscure one today. His name was Tristram Coffin – perhaps an appropriate surname for that “dead man walking”. And, yes, I did have to look him up – even Michael didn’t know.
We had our annual “church in the park” today but had to skip the pot luck afterward because today was also Michael’s company picnic. We should have stayed for the pot luck. The picnic was catered by the event staff from UNLV (it was held on one of the UNLV athletic fields), and the hot food was cold and the cold food was warm – health-department-would-have-shut-them-down warm. The only thing served at the proper temperature were the teeny cups of ice cream. Michael won a prize, though, for having the longest membership with Triple-A.
