Jim: “Why didn’t we even try to rig the guns?”Wally: “I would have destroyed them either way.”Jim: “Yeah, but then I’d have more excuse to be angry over your ruining something that we could really have used!”Holly: “He does have a point.”Wally: “Hush, don’t encourage him.”Clive: “Right, don’t encourage him.”Sarah: “Wait, you’re still offline.”Clive: “Sorry, jumped my cue.”Jim: “Ok, starting from the top… Why didn’t we even try to rig the guns?”
I don’t know the whats or hows of the canned brain interface, so can only hope that Clive isn’t in some sensory-deprived hell as his life-support resources dwindle away. In any case, unless they find some help that includes technology, poor Clive is SOL.
What about the poor, dearly departed brains in the zero guns Wally shot? At least it was quick. Or was it? What if one of the guns was only wounded?“Hey, you! Buddy! Over here! Yeah, I’m over here. I’m shot. I’m hurt real bad. Yeah, that’s me, the gun. Ya gotta get help. Get me to the hospital. I’m goin’ fast. hey… hey, if I don’t make it… get a message to my family. Yeah, reach into my holster, there’s a photo. That’s her – Derringer and the three little pea-shooters. No, don’t walk away! No, wait, I used to be a side arm…”
Its curious that Sarah doesn’t have tools. I always figured that PTs would have come with them as standard equipment just for situations like this, though the drivers might usually just call Topsider Triple A when their PTs break down. Does that mean that the screwdriver Al used to fix Petey’s SRM was something that Al brought along on the quest just in case he needed it?
I’d assume that the chips in question are Clive’s interface processor rather than Clive himself. But if he is a ’puter instead of canned brain, it does change the game a bit.
I see people talking about Sarah not having tools but tools being available to Al.
What nobody seems to have realised is that you’d hardly try to repair a watch with a tire iron (unless you desperately needed a new watch).
In other words, just because the transport has tools suitable for repairing it is no reason to believe that it has any tools suitable for modifying a zero gun.

Didn’t know Clive had a face (panel 4).

Poor Clive. I guess there are drawbacks to being part of a machine instead of a mutant. Mutants appear to heal quickly. Machines? Not so much.
Maybe they should opt to pull the brain out of the cabinet and hope to find a replacement body.

“Why are you putting a leash on Clive?”
“We’re going to be walking a head.”
“You can’t take a head for a walk!”
“But I can take it for a drag.”

Go back to the back, open up that panel, and see what state Clive’s disembodied head is in. (If any of the four of you can take looking at it.)

Sarah evidently has some reason to run. It seems she took Jim for a ride.

Is that Clive’s memory chip she has in her hands?Well… He carried them this far. Now they can take turns carrying him.

Sarah’s reptilian brain is in charge.

seems like some game-changers are showing up. It feels like End town universe is expanding. Sarah isn’t someone I would trust.
