In the next item in the capsule... An old TV Guide! Oh my gosh! NCIS: Los Angeles! Can you believe the things we used to watch?! That's still on TV... He only buried the time capsule five weeks ago, but the anticipation got so unbearable, he decided to dig it up a little early... What were we thinking back then?!

I love old TV guides. The shows were terrible productions compared to today, but still more watchable. Many guilty pleasures among those 80’s, 70’s shows. And people certainly looked better. No silicone, no tattoos, no steroid men.
Very soon, anything printed on paper will be time capsule-worthy.

I miss the early TV programs, but I don’t know why?

Actually we’re regressing. Looney Tunes cartoons were far superior to what we have today. Unfortunately most of them are outright banned in our overly “sensitive” times.

We actually still have a VCR (a VCR!) in the bedroom, and I still have some recordings, commercials included, of MASH re-runs from a quarter century or so ago. Seeing those old commercials is almost as much fun as the program itself.

I sold all my videotapes a couple years ago (700 +) online, but later found out that they were actually still worth money among collectors. Like you, I also kept them for so long just for the commercials. It’s interesting that most of that stuff isn’t advertised any more.
