Ugh. Reminds me of school way back when I was this creepy ‘lil kid…….I went to parochial school and we tended to have major religious “feast” days off when these fell on weekdays. I would taunt and pester the “public” school kids, many of whom were friends of mine, on such days as they trundled off to their school. Of course, they were host to a lot of "teachers’ meetings days there when the students were all given days off. I got it back in spades on such days……ahh, friends: what WOULD we do without ‘em? I just wish now that we hadn’t done THAT to each other……..on the other hand, nobody ever gave, or received, a wedgie over the whole sordid business! Laugh! LAUGH!!

I went public, my kids go to private (Jewish Day School) and they do have to make up some snow days.

The private school kid is obnoxious, but bullying — and giving someone a wedgie is bullying — is not okay, no matter what. The correct response is, “What, your school doesn’t care enough about you getting a good education to have you make up snow days?”

i go to public school and my school is over and my school has air conditioned buses and we didnt make up the great snowfalls of 2014- by the way i live in georgia-. all together we lost 6 days of school but we added 30 minutes to the day from march to may 14. better than going to school for more days.

I wonder if we have to make up rain days, too?
