This story could continue with Nina warmly telling her recollections of their early life together or we could get a bunch of fat jokes with Slim. I am very much hoping for the former (or some variation of that theme).
Let’s get back to Gretchen again. How is her musical career going? After all her grandmother was an opera singer, Mdm Octave and Lil Slim’s mom played piano so there you have the musician genes Will she wed her Italian boy friend?
Gretchen’s /great/-grandmother was an opera singer.Mme. Octave→Skeezix→Chipper→Gretchen. But you never know about that. Neither of my parents could sing for beans, but I have over twenty years of (admittedly low-level) professional opera under my belt (not to mention Viennese operetta, which in some ways is harder).

Sorry to see the flashbacks end. Still hope it might have been a trick on Skeezik’s part. Either way, good story!

I enjoyed this storyline, too, and I’m looking forward to the next one. ~I would like to see a storyline with Rover and his little family.
