    Less than 8 years really; the ‘tablet computers’ they had in 2006 were very bulky windows laptops without keyboards. ;)

    The iPad launched in April 2010, and that was the first tablet to really take off. (Unless you count ipod touch and smartphones as miniature tablets, I mean.)

    Tablets are too big, and too easily stolen. Give me a smartphone in my front pocket any day.

    Surprising they don’t just go play their computer or video games. You don’t need cable for that — not with the older pre-online-only games anyway.

    I felt the same when we lost our internet access for most of the day due to an power outage the night before.
